UCF football offensive line coach Shawn Clark remains in stable condition after being hospitalized Tuesday night following a sudden medical emergency, the school confirmed Wednesday.

Clark, 50, joined UCF earlier this year. He’s quickly built strong ties with players and staff during his first season with the program.

UCF Athletics issued a statement thanking fans for their support.

“Coach [Scott] Frost and our football and administration staffs are fully supporting Coach Clark and his loved ones during this time.”

Before arriving at UCF, Clark served as Appalachian State’s head coach. He compiled a 40-24 record with the Mountaineers before being dismissed after a 5-6 season in 2024.

The Knights are 2-0 this season.

UCF is on a bye week before facing North Carolina on Sept. 20. The timing gives players and staff time to process the situation and rally around their coach.

For UCF, the focus remains on supporting Clark as he recovers and continuing to build on the foundation he’s helped establish with the offensive line.
