USC is trending to land five-star quarterback Ryder Lyons from the 2026 recruiting class, according to On3 Sports. The recruiting service gives the Trojans a 97.8% chance to secure his commitment.

Lyons, from Folsom, California, ranks as the No. 3 quarterback and No. 10 overall recruit in the 2026 class.

The 2024 season showcased Lyons’s abilities at Folsom High School. He completed 68.1% of his passes for 3,011 yards with 46 touchdowns and six interceptions in 13 games, according to MaxPreps.

USC finished the 2024 season 7-6 overall and 4-5 in Big Ten conference play. Head coach Lincoln Riley continues to rebuild through both recruiting and the NCAA transfer portal.

No other program has more than a 1% chance to land Lyons, per On3’s recruiting predictions.

The timing of Lyons’s commitment announcement remains unknown.

USC’s quarterback room could use the boost after their first season in the Big Ten. The Trojans are working to return to national championship contention after establishing themselves as one of college football’s historic powers.

Riley’s track record with quarterback development includes producing three Heisman Trophy finalists during his time at Oklahoma.

The addition of Lyons would give USC its highest-rated quarterback recruit since Malachi Nelson in the 2023 class.

“Those numbers give a glimpse at just how talented he is and why landing him would be such a huge get for the Trojans,” said On3 recruiting analyst Charles Power.
